Paid media advertising is all around us. It’s the content you pay to place—Google Adwords, tv and radio ads, direct mail, print ads, display/video, outdoor media, social media ads, retargeted online ads and influencer marketing; and the type of media that influences 90% of consumer purchase decisions. This program will uncover the different types of paid media, highlighting the pros and cons of each, and explain what media planning and buying actually is and how to make the process work effectively for your law firm.

About the Speaker:
Melissa McGath is an entrepreneur, graphic designer, illustrator, marketer and brand strategist with more than 22 years of experience in a variety of design and marketing-related fields. Amongst starting and co-owning other businesses, she launched her creative firm, Voom Creative, in 2014 located in downtown Minneapolis. In 2020, the company was named Top MN Creative Agency by Upcity.com and Top MN Digital Marketing Company by Expertise.com in 2020 and 2021. Voom has also won 20 international and regional awards for branding & design, marketing communications, and media planning & buying.
Voom Creative’s media planning & buying expertise has resulted in 100% growth for their legal clients. Since 2015, they have created over 100 media plans, placed media in 24 top markets across the country, and have managed multi-million dollar budgets for law firms.
Melissa’s career began working at Taylor Corporation in North Mankato, MN as an illustrator where she created fine art for special occasions. During her time in Mankato, Melissa also became a published illustrator (Melissa Carpenter) and was commissioned by Picture Window Books, a children’s book publishing company to illustrate a six-book animal series. She then accepted a graphic design position at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN. There she designed internal and external communications for print and web. She also designed the brand for Maple Grove Hospital, a partnership between North Memorial and Fairview.
Melissa earned a degree in communications art and design from Alexandria Technical College and has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN.
Melissa is married and has two children. Her family resides in North Oaks, MN.
