As we kick off the first quarter of 2024, I am eager to see more of my colleagues and West Region Board engage each
other with a growth mindset. I started volunteering from the moment I could in any way with this growth mindset well
over a decade ago. I said hello to new faces at each event, asking for mentors and following up with new contacts, and
to sought out the viability of making legal marketing my career. As someone who is a hands-on builder, a project manager
and systems thinker, I have taken apart the value of what I want this field to bring myself and others, examining its
framework and operations, looking for notions of continuous improvement, and hope to keep things going onward and upward
in a way that is realistic, consensus-driven, and practical.
So, what have I noticed as of late? I am seeing legal marketers who are hungry. They have an appetite to resurface in
the post-pandemic environment and do more than just network. They’re wonderfully curious, looking for innovative
solutions, and searching for a forum of like-minded cohorts that the Legal Marketing Association provides. They are
continuing to solidify insights and skills through shared experiences, connecting through a strong desire to be in a
profession that has been going strong for more than 30 years, and are finding answers to through new and long-time
members alike. As the West Region sees all this change, we are mapping out the year and years ahead, and with that, I
can tell you that we have we have much to look forward to with our dedicated volunteers.
To that end, the West Region Board and Local Steering Committees are working to:
- Increase communications to keep you apprised of events and happenings through an organized approach with LMA
International
- Develop fun and creative event opportunities to meet in areas where legal marketers and their diversified interests
intersect
- Supply member resources that will allow you to get more information, and give you an opportunity to be more integrated
in a post-pandemic environment
- Shed light key members, game-changers, and sponsors that are making a difference and those we think you should know
As we come together in this first quarter, it is also helpful note to highlight how many of us serve as volunteers that
advocate for the profession and further this advocacy through participation, attendance at events, and as part of
something greater. I hope you can thanks these volunteers, and look ahead with me as we embark on new programming
possibilities, socials, and an LMA Annual conference that will be held in San Diego later this year.
Cheers,
Mohib
