PRESENTATION GUIDELINES, TEMPLATE AND EXPECTATIONS

PowerPoint presentations are due by Wednesday, March 20. Submit your final materials to your ACAC liaisons. They will review and submit to the LMA team on your behalf.

· Download and utilize the 2024 LMA Annual Conference PowerPoint Template to ensure all presentations are unified under the conference theme.

· To support greener, more sustainable conference practices we will not provide hard copies of presentation materials; instead, these materials will be available via the conference mobile app for attendees' use before and after the conference.

Participate on Prep Call with an ACAC member
We want to hear what you have planned! To ensure top-notch education at 2024 LMA Annual Conference, the ACAC will hold prep calls prior to the conference (February 12-28). The goal of each call is to:

  • Facilitate a conversation among speaker(s) to ensure a consistent goal and message
  • Discuss attendee demographics and, if applicable, adjust content to meet the needs of attendees
  • Solidify the content and approach you plan to present/execute
  • Explore facilitation techniques to enhance audience engagement and participation
  • Provide a measure of oversight and guarantee all speakers are well-prepared

Presentation Details - FAQs

  • Do I need to use the LMA PowerPoint template?
    Yes! To ensure a consistent brand experience and thoughtful content design, the PowerPoint template is required for all presentations.
     
  • I am not planning to use slides, are they required?
    Yes! Adult learners like to know the plan and a visual representation captures attention. If the majority of your session is conversation, we recommend these minimum slides: title slide with speaker information, learning objectives, and the session survey reminder. You can find these in the template.
     
  • Can I use polling during my presentation?
    Absolutely! Polling is a fantastic way to engage the audience. Speakers are responsible for managing and executing polling. The LMA Education Team recommends using Sli.do.
     
  • Do I need to bring my PowerPoint to the session?
    Yes! While the LMA Education Team pre-loads all PowerPoints onto the provided laptop, it is always a good idea to have a backup – especially if you made edits to your presentation after the March 20 deadline.

PREPARING FOR YOUR ONSITE EXPERIENCE

Audio/Visual Provided and Room Set
All session rooms include various seating options to meet attendee comfort and engagement levels (i.e. roundtables, theater and/or standing). All rounds will sit 6-8 attendees.

Each session room comes equipped with: 

  • Lavalier microphones for each speaker
  • Laptop with your PowerPoint pre-loaded
  • Slide advancer
  • Projector & screen
  • 1 flipchart
  • A/V support and a videographer

Stage Design

  • To create an inclusive learning experience and inspire conversation, we are removing the traditional panel table in front of the speakers from all session rooms (see example photo).
  • There will be a podium on each stage for the laptop.

 

Media Notice
LMA International allows media the chance to attend the Annual Conference through a special media partner offer. As a result, some media professionals in attendance may be interested in attending your session and covering the content. If your presentation needs to remain confidential or you do not feel comfortable having press attend your session, please email us at education@legalmarketing.org so we may blacklist your session and inform media that it is closed. If you would like to be included on a list as a potential interviewee for press, or would like to be a promoted presenter, please email marketing@legalmarketing.org.

SPEAKER REGISTRATION 

As a thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience, speakers receive 50% off the early bird registration rate. This rate applies regardless of when you register. 

To ensure we have your most recent information and preferences, please complete the 2024 LMA Annual Conference registration form here:register now. Click “I am a Speaker,” then enter the email address associated with your LMA account. Add your unique speaker discount code (see email). The code should apply your discount; please do not distribute to others. If you have any questions about registration, contact the LMA Team atregistration@legalmarketing.org

*Service Provider presenters should register as sponsors and use the pass given to them within their sponsor package.

HOUSING AND TRAVEL INFORMATION 

All 2024 LMA Annual Conference activities will take place at the San Diego Marriott Marquis Marina in San Diego in San Diego, California.  

All speakers are responsible for their own travel and hotel expenses. Be steps away from all conference happenings by staying at The Marriott Marquis, but act quickly – the special, discounted room rate is available until March 13, 2024, or until rooms sell out, whichever occurs first).
