Rolling out successful initiatives at law firms frequently requires the help of several departments. IT, accounting, and legal assistants all play an important role in implementing business development, client service, and other initiatives that legal marketers lead the charge on. Historically, however, support departments at law firms would silo out—leading to incomplete information, administrative challenges, and other roadblocks that can keep initiatives from reaching full potential for success or even causing them to fail. In this presentation, Cynthia Voth, Chief Client Officer at Miller Nash, will discuss initiatives where the BD team worked with support departments to successfully collaborate, develop, and implement those initiatives. Having started as marketing director at her current firm, and now responsible for overseeing not only marketing/BD, but also IT, records, and legal support staff, Cynthia will also discuss the opportunities available to legal marketers to take on larger management roles in their firms.

Cynthia Voth is Chief Client Officer at Miller Nash—a 160-attorney firm based in the Northwest. She is an experienced legal marketer and law firm leader with a passion for collaborating with and coaching attorneys on business development and delivering excellent client service. In her role as Chief Client Officer, she oversees the firm's Marketing/BD, IT, Records, and Legal Support Staff departments. Dedicated to the advancement of the legal profession and an active volunteer with the Legal Marketing Association, Cynthia served as President of the International Board of Directors in 2019.
