New York Shared Interest Groups (SIGs)
Business Development SIG
Business development for law firms means pursuing strategic opportunities for your firm while launching and managing initiatives that generate revenue. The New York BD SIG brings like-minded professionals from across the Northeast to brainstorm and problem solve together. LMA NY established the BD SIG to discuss initiatives, share innovative ideas and overcome common obstacles in the realm of law firm business development. This SIG discusses ways to build new relationships, coach attorneys, identify new revenue streams and business opportunities, and collaborate and benefit from other departments and disciplines (i.e.: MarTech, Marketing, PR, Events, External Vendors, Internal Departments and others).
Business development professionals at all levels are invited to attend meetings and events where they will hear from industry experts, attend roundtable discussions and get involved in practical workshops. The NY BD SIG is open to collaboration with other SIGS and input on programming from the LMA community.

CMO SIG
Through networking, social events, guided discussions and reports from the members, the CMO SIG is a forum limited to those in a first chair role at a law firm and other professional services firms to share ideas and discuss relevant topics.
A professional service provider acts as an intermediary between a client and other organizations. Professional service providers include lawyers, accountants, investment brokers, and other third parties that act as business liaisons for clients.
The CMO SIG meets at different times and venues, with one meeting each quarter devoted to a presentation by a member on a best practice, new initiative or strategy. The group’s meetings provide an informal, intimate setting for sharing and learning. For the 2021 SIG Overview CLICK HERE.
LMANext
The LMANext SIG (previously known as Future Leaders) provides professional development and networking opportunities for law firm marketing professionals with fewer than ten years of experience at a law firm or agency. There are more than 200 members of the SIG, representing over 45 law firms and agencies. The SIG regularly hosts roundtable meetings and networking events that are open to members of LMA New York.
