The role of identity in navigating challenging professional spaces of leadership as a person outside the stereotypical leader archetype.

In this session we will cover:

  1. self-defined and externally imposed identities
  2. genuine actions toward equity vs DEI as a marketing strategy
  3. the imagined dearth of candidates and the resulting professional isolation
  4. creating a legacy of your own design

 

Sofia DeMartino, MBA, is a seasoned consultant specializing in leadership, change management, and DEI initiatives. With extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, she served as Executive Director of Elder Services, Inc., where she led strategic initiatives to improve care and sustainability. Sofia’s consulting practice focuses on guiding organizations through transformational change, leveraging her expertise in operational improvements and fostering inclusive environments. As co-founder of the Black Maternal Health Collective, she has led advocacy efforts addressing health disparities and empowering underrepresented communities.
