LMASE DEI 4-Week Essential/Advanced Intensive: The Next Level DEI For Legal Marketers
Recorded May 4, 2022
Join the Southeast Region for a series that explores the intersection between legal marketing and law firm diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
The Intensive focuses on TANGIBLE, ACTIONABLE things a marketer can do, use, or impact related to DEI. Each week of the 4-week series will focus on a different topic area: Rankings, Certifications and Client Reporting; Communications; Business Development; and Events. Each session will provide an essential skill offering on that topic that is directly followed by an advanced skill perspective on the same topic. Participants can attend one or both skill level offerings by topic or attend the entire series.
Week 2 - May 4th
Communications
A significant aspect of a firm’s overall DEI strategy is communication. Often marketers are tasked to communicate how their firms approach DEI through programs, policies and procedures and progress the firm has made (or not made) in its DEI efforts. How and what a firm communicates regarding its DEI journey, both internally and externally, often makes a critical difference in the ability to garner support and cohesion internally as well as bridge relationships to current and potential clients externally.
Essential (Hour 1): Designing a DEI Communications StrategyUnderstand how DEI is weaved into your overall communications strategy, both internally and externally. Consider how your firm communicates its DEI initiatives, language choices, and the vehicles in which those messages are delivered.
Advanced (Hour 2): Client Conversations and Communicating DEIEquip your lawyers to discuss DEI with clients. Design talking points and tools to assist in important client conversations. Develop collateral materials that communicate DEI efforts to clients.
