Christie Cáceres, Chief Business Development and Marketing Officer, Sheppard Mullin

Christie Cáceres is the Chief Business Development and Marketing Officer at Sheppard Mullin, an AmLaw 100 firm with over 1,000 lawyers. Christie has nearly 25 years of experience in legal marketing and oversees the firm’s BD and Marketing team which encompasses business development, marketing communications, sales, marketing technology, budgets, BD training and coaching, graphics, digital marketing, marketing programs, client feedback and client experience. Christie is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Legal Sales and Service Organization (LSSO). She is also active in charitable and community organizations. Christie serves on the Board, and is Fundraising Chair, for TotalLink2 Community, an organization which provides innovative programs and services that teach critical life skills to help prepare young adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities for the world of work. She is also the current President of her school district’s Parent Teacher Organization.

Ali Shahidi, Managing Director for Information, O'Melveny


Ali Shahidi, Managing Director for Information at O'Melveny, has over twenty years of experience in the legal industry and oversees the firm's knowledge management and innovation initiatives. Ali and the KM team collaborate with attorneys to develop practical solutions to facilitate the delivery of legal services to clients. Under his leadership, knowledge managers, business analysts and solution architects use advanced technologies such as process automation, data analytics and machine learning to enhance legal service offerings to clients and make the practice of law more efficient. Consistent with OMelveny’s focus on social justice and diversity, Ali has been active as a mentor and volunteer through non-profits and professional organizations, including Fulfillment Fund and Public Counsel. In his prior role as the Chief Innovation & Client Solutions Officer at Sheppard Mullin, Ali worked closely with Christy & Britton on developing and adopting marketing technology solutions. He has served as board member and advisor to technology start-ups, legal solution providers, law schools and industry associations.

Britton Choi, CIO, Sheppard Mullin

Britton Choi is the CIO for Sheppard Mullin, where he currently leads the Information Technology and Information Governance teams. Prior to his current role as CIO, he has had the privilege of being the first CISO for Sheppard Mullin. Before landing at Sheppard Mullin, he has had the opportunity to work at some other great AMLAW 50 firms for most of his professional career. 

Jacqueline Madarang, Director of Marketing Technology and Operations, Bracewell LLP (Moderator)

Jacqueline Madarang is not a stranger to technology and digital marketing, and has led and implemented many large-scale projects. Her work has received many awards within and outside of the legal profession, including several LMA Your Honor Awards on CRM implementations, a website award on the innovative use of technology and design, and thought leadership awards that lawyers have received due to the success of the programs she has launched. She is the director of marketing technology and operations at Bracewell, and co-chairs LMA’s Marketing Technology SIG with Vik Gupta. 

Jack Recinto, Manager of Application Development, Vedder Price PC (Moderator)

Jack Maximo Recinto is the Manager of Application Development at Vedder Price PC. During his tenure in Information Technology, he has worked in both legal and corporate entities and has taken on roles ranging from IT Management, Business Analysis, Project Management and Software Engineering.  As an active member and volunteer in ILTA, he serves as the Strategic Partnership Liaison (SPL) to Intapp, Intapp Online Community Champion and is the Team Coordinator of the Technology Solutions Content Coordinating Team in which he enjoys assisting in delivering quality, relevant and timely educational and member-driven programming within the areas of focus of IT operations, applications and technology support services.
