As we get closer to the warmer time of year, I am happy to see that many of the West Region's legal marketers are out and about, and yes, more than ever. They are in a flurry of activity, with many returning from the Annual Conference in San Diego. They have a renewed perspective from sessions and countless conversations, energized with ideas that are now being discussed with colleagues, lawyers, and management. I am also observing legal marketers play catch up on all the things missed, you know, in the week away that left our lawyers panicking for support. For all things not-so-quiet on the Western Region front, our board continues to fine-tune communications and other initiatives as we head into the second quarter of the year with events and educational sessions.
The goal, in the second quarter of 2024, continues with a mission to keep delivering benefits around programming, education, connection, and profitability. Many of our Local Steering Committee leaders remain exemplary volunteers, as they set up programs and social events for you, making sure your membership benefits include a sense of kinship and much more. You can look forward to these events in this newsletter and every week as they get announced, including Southern California: Mindful Marketers Lunch and Learn, and Bay Area Annual Silicon Valley Virtual In-House Counsel Summit.
Race of the Regions - The West is the Best!
In a world where expectations take flight, I always like to take a moment to express gratitude. We have much to be thankful for in the West Region, namely because our membership turned up in force at the 2024 LMA Annual Conference. We celebrated winning the Race of the Regions by beating out every other region in LMA for having the greatest percentage of attending members. This was no easy feat as leaders called up their cohorts, expended personal capital, and asked friends new and old to join legal marketers at the conference. We should certainly celebrate this unity until next year when the conference heads to Washington, DC.
Get Ready for a Super Regional Conference Like Never Before!
I have some exciting news to share that will be unlike anything LMA or the LMA West Region has seen. I'm proud to announce that we are creating a combined conference with our lovely Southwest Region. Branded as “Tech West By Southwest” this first-ever joint regional conference will be held October 22-25th in Las Vegas.
