2022 Southeast Annual Conference

The Legal Marketing Association’s Southeast Region is currently seeking experienced and dynamic presenters for the 2022 LMASE Regional Conference, taking place October 26-28 in Savannah, Georgia. All submissions are due by Friday, May 13 at 5:30 pm EST.

This year’s conference, “Culture 2022: Success from the Inside Out,” will weave culture into every facet of the conference, from programming to the attendee experience. Our goal is to have diverse and impactful programming that is:

  • Interactive: Content is delivered with attendee engagement in mind. Workshops, roundtables, and other engaging formats are strongly encouraged. 
  • Practical: Provides useful takeaways, templates and ideas that attendees can implement in their own organizations. 
  • Focused: Content reinforces the theme.Traditional marketing and business development skills are welcomed, but your proposal should articulate how the topic intersects with culture. 

The conference framework will comprise three specific areas as it relates to culture, outlined below. Speaking proposals can be tailored to focus on one or more of these three areas. When referring to culture, this can be viewed from an individual level, a department level or an organization level.

  • Defining and Exploring an Organization’s Culture: This is for attendees who may not have a strong organizational culture, or who have never considered the legal marketer’s role in it. 
  • Maintaining and Enhancing an Organization’s Culture: This is for attendees who recognize and have an understanding of their organization’s culture, and are looking for ways to maintain and enhance that culture from their particular role or department, especially as the workplace has changed significantly.
  • Reimagining an Organization’s Culture: This is for attendees who have identified a need to change their organization’s culture. Whether driven by toxicity, industry-wide issues, the pandemic, or myriad other reasons, these attendees are coming to reimagine what their organization’s culture could be. 

Conference Background

The LMA Southeastern Region is one of the largest regions within the LMA community. The LMASE Regional Conference is a high-quality, professional development opportunity for LMA members to learn, network, and gain practical insights on timely and timeless topics. Attendees range from entry-level to senior leaders, and include law firm marketing departments, consultants, and service providers. Our attendees develop and manage marketing and business development strategies, both internally and externally.

Submission Process + Timeline

The Call for Speakers submission is open Tuesday, April 12 through Friday, May 6 at 5:30 pm EST. Late proposals will not be accepted. By submitting a proposal, you are committing to speaking in-person at the conference. 

Proposals will be asked to include a written connection between the topic and how it relates to culture. Click here for a sample proposal submission form. We encourage you to read through this sample form thoroughly, as all materials, including presenter information, must be ready prior to submitting.

Best Practices:

  • Be sure to include all of the requested information. Please provide complete information on co-presenters.
  • This is an educational program. The speaking opportunity should not be used to sell a product or service.
  • Presentations should focus on the most pressing, current, and emerging issues affecting legal marketers.
  • Be specific. Tell us how you will engage and educate your audience.
  • Clearly articulate:
    • How your presentation ties back to culture
    • Takeaways attendees will gain from your session
    • Tools that attendees can take to their firms and implement immediately
    • Whether the session be interactive, and how 
    • Types of materials you will provide

Session Types

Proposed sessions should be structured using one of the following formats:

  • Interactive Workshops: Led by one or two people and highly interactive, including worksheets, case studies or role play
  • Panels: Two to four speakers with a moderator in a conversational format
  • Lecture: Single person presentation
  • Roundtable Discussion: Moderate a discussion among attendees in a small group setting

Speaker Details

Speakers will receive a discounted registration price of $420. A conference-branded PPT template will be available. Speakers must use the first and last slides. All presentation slides and materials will be available to attendees after the conference.
