Navigating the Internet Marketing Minefield
How to Avoid Ethical Violations Event
Wednesday, November 13 | 4 - 5 p.m. MST
Please join us as we discuss internet marketing and how to avoid ethical violations for law firms. Immediately following the presentation, we will walk to a happy hour sponsored by Esquire Interactive.
The internet offers more opportunities than ever for law firm marketing. However, video, AI, and marketing delegation (especially to external agencies) can pose significant risk of unintended ethics violations.
In this presentation, we’ll review attorney ethics requirements, and also show how these requirements apply to several outrageous attorney videos (and an SNL attorney skit) and other marketing. The program will focus on the “do’s” and “don’ts” of legal marketing, and participants will learn:
- How the attorney ethics rules apply in different marketing avenues, including websites, video, social media, and reviews,
- How to avoid ethics rules violations not only in initial marketing creatives, but also in extended marketing posts (such as reposting videos on social media),
- Frequently-used legal marketing messages that should be avoided, and
- How to create a process that ensures ethics compliance.
